Welcome to Barcelona! (We don't know why the NA are missing)
We went on a walk through the city on our first day here. We saw some Picasso art on building outside the Cathedral. This is art I can get behind. Mostly because stick figures are all the art I can do...
This is the inside of the Cathedral. Notice the side alters behind the main alter.
This church had an elevator to walk along the roof. We got our first panoramic view of the city.
What was also really neat was the outside court-yard area. It had 10ish outside alters with different monuments and alters to celebrate mass. It also had a pool with goldfish and 13 geese (the age the patron saint of Barcelona died). The one goose did NOT like Nick.
This alter was dedicated to the life of St. Joseph. It was really really awesome.
The we walked around the neighborhood to find some lamp-posts designed by Gaudi. It was Nick's first sighting and he was in love. This was also the court-yard where Nick watched a pigeon die.
For dinner, we drank beer. This was Nick's happy place. Toto, we are not in Rome anymore.
The next day, we found a tree with small pokey-things growing out of it. Rachel needed to poke it. Payback for the poking the Cacti pictures?
Afterwards we headed to the pier to see all the boats...
... And go to the aquarium.
This is a bunch of baby sharks still in their eggs. It was neat to watch them grow and more around inside the eggs.
These fish grow until they maturate then copulate non-stop until they die of exhaustion.
We loved to watch the Octopus move around the tank.
Going inside the epic underwater tank. Plus the sting-rays and sharks that swam over us.
We found Nemos!!!
And two Penguins holding hands. Awww.
Time to hang out on the boat. The ultimate in relaxation.
